Lic premium paid and lic claim rejected

(Querist) 12 January 2016 This query is : Resolved
Dear Sir,

I am Tulsi, and my father was having one LIC Policy which has been early claim because his sudden death. He was in Job in Andhra Goverment and my whole family used to live in rural area Hardoi, Uttar Pradesh.

All medical report and others details are in our favour but only claim rejected by LIC syaying that the payment of LIC premium which has been made on time but has been made using other than my father bank account, online using my DAD LIC portal. In his portal his policy no enrolled in his name only.

The reason for above payment is only becuase of LIC does not accept ECS from his salary account and he was not educated in doing banking transactions so he used to give the cash to his friend and concerned person made the payment on his behalf.

Please suggest me what we need to do now reason being I have checked the LIC portal in which the comments is Premium should be paid on the policy owned by policyholder only but as per this comments it does not mean that payment can not be made using other bank account. All the payment has been made using his own portal and LIC accepted it and given the receipt to him.

I would be thankful to you.

The premium has been paid.
The policy was in force.

Saying, asking, telling are all verbal mode of communication and may not be easy to prove.

Submit claim under proper acknowledgment.

Dear Sir,

As per above I have browsed LIC website but not received any information which says that maximum X% of Monthly Income would be your monthly premium and X times would be the sum assured of annual income.

There is no information which is being provided by LIC office too.

Please help.

Thank you.

If premium accepted by LIC and policy is live you can seek settlement of sum assured in terms of policy as legal heir. Normally Agent used to help in terms of the policy and if rejected you can seek details of rejection of claim in writing. If not satisfied with their response, you can approach Insurance Ombudsman of your region with the support of Insurance Advisor through whom you got the policy.

Take the assistance of the any experienced LIC Agent and approach the Insurance Ombudsman.
