My husband was the tenant of Bhagwandas Todi Charitable Trust, Mumbai. It is a public trust and it fraudulently sold the trust building in 2007 without giving opportunity to tenants to buy out the tenements. Can my husband or my self file a PIL in Mumbai High Court as due to criminal nexus of Trustees, Charity Commissioner and land mafia many such buildings are sold putting the tenants at risk of loosing the tenements due to such foul plays.
Pl. help. I am thankful to a lawyer who has provided us the format for PIL.

You are under a misconception..PIL is 'public interest' and not 'personal interest'. Here your husband's interest is present and therefore PIL is not bonafide...The Court will see through your petition if filed...I feel that Civil or Criminal proceedings are the way out for you This forum has good number of legal experts who will advice you correctly....

My heart felt thanks to experts. I am aware that although thousands or may be millions of tenants of such rogue public trust created to milch the govt. exemptions / benefits are being exploited and the risk of loosing their tenements due criminal nexus of Charity Commissioner with the land mafia and trustees but none of the so called NGOs and Social Organisations or Civil Society dare take up the matter by filling PIL. Are we not living in Goonda Raj ?

If you are a bonafide tenant then there are adequate laws to protect your possession. You please find out your rights and in case of violation of any approach a competent court of law and fight for your rights instead of getting sentimental or aggressive.
Tenancy laws in India are pro-tenant.
