Fraud by icici bank

Sir,
I have deposited Rs.30,000/- in ICICI Bank yesterday which was properly checked by the employee of bank and that bank employee has given me stamped receipt of cash deposit. but later on after 1 hour employee of that bank ring on my mobile and said that out of Rs.30000/- there were two notes of Rs.1000/- which was found duplicate. and said that you are resposible for this. When i visit to bank for this matter and ask branch manager, he said that it is fault on your part. do whatever you, we will not responsible for this. and they deposit Rs.2000 short in my account.
You are kindly requested to please help me and suggest what remedy is available for me.

While accepting the amount by the cashier he will cheque the notes. Now they cannot blame on you.
Issue legal notice to credit Rs.2000/- to your account, they will reply what they have informed. After receipt of the reply you initiate consumer proceedings against you.

Yes.
The bank employee ought to have checked the notes while accepting. Once you are issued a receipt, they cannot deduct any amount from what you have deposited. The fault is on part of the bank's employee for which you cannot be penalised.
Thus, act as advised by Mr.Rajoo.
You can make a complaint with respect to the same to the RBI too. Approach the RBI directly with the receipt and your account statement.
