Fraudulent act by indiatimes shopping

Querist : Anonymous (Querist) 25 October 2011 This query is : Resolved
I had recently made an online purchase from India-times shopping. The gift was not delivered to me and the matter when escalated was sent back an forth between the indiatimes staff and the courier company Aramex. I had requested them to cancel the order after a month's follow up and send me the refund. However Indiatimes staff is not responding on the real update. Instead they are writing back with false deadlines of resolving the query and once the deadline is over they write back for new deadlines. What legal action can i take against them ?

You can file complaint to the Consumer Forum against the erring service provider.
You can ask for refund of money and compensation as well.

Indiatimes is not selling anything through this site, but is just acting as a facilitator. If you read terms & conditions, you can find the following text in the TOC:

"USER ACKNOWLEDGES THAT THROUGH THIS SITE, TIL MERELY ACTS AS A FACILITATOR, IN ORDER TO FACILITATE HIGHEST QUALITY SERVICES TO THE USERS."

So, naturally, some vendors are working by using the site of the India Times.

However, there is a clause of termination or suspension of account of the user in the TOC. If the vendor has cheated you, better at first ask the India Shopping to terminate the vendor's account, so that the vendor may not be able to cheat other customers.

You may therefore lodge your complaint through feedback link as at the following link. If you are still not able to get proper response then don't wait and file a case in the Consumer Forum against the party as well as the India Times:

http://www.feedback.indiatimes.com/gcReport/feedback/index.jsp?CID=20

If the site does not open, you can click the link of "FEEDBACK" given below the page of the TOC.
