Hello Experts,
I bought a Group Housing Society Flat few years ago and its not registered yet. At that time, the builder gave me the Share Certificate and Allotment Letter in my sole name only. However, I requested him to do such that my & wife's both name are on Share certificate and Allotment letter.
Now when I am trying to register, the lawyer says it can only be registered in the name that is on Share Certificate.
Actually, we both put our money and bought this and with this news my wife is severely upset that I have done this to own this myself :)
I want to know, what official process is there to add her to the ownership and registration?
Is it possible that I register it in my name now. Then is there a process to pay some fees and add her to the same?
Or is it possible that Group Housing Society issues her a Share Certificate and then I can take that to Registration Office for adding her.
Please elaborate me how I can solve this situation.
Thanks in advance/ Diptesh

Mr. Diptesh,
1. I do not find any problem in issuance of share certificate in joint names. Ask builder and society in writing, file appeal before RCS, if declined.
2. For the querry of registeration, you are refering to registeration of the Cooperative Group Housing Society or...?

The share certificate in the joint names will enable you to register the property in the joint names. So first obtain the share a certificate both of your names and then go for registration.
