Am an hindu and my husband is a muslim we got married in 2011 sep 21st through special marriage act and later we disclosed it to our parents he was thrown out of his house stating that I need to be converted.my husband pleaded me to just sign the papers as a formalities there after followed by nikka for which I told himclearly that I was doing it for his sake and I had no idea to convert.after marriage my husband got a job in gujarat and he shifted from chennai I was told tat he will take me with him after his sister marriage years went by and he visited me once in 3 mnths.after all these days I lost my patience and started questioning him abt our life and future but now my husband is threatening me to convert or he would divorce me also I was tortured badly by his parents for conversion.he would abuse me sexually am being used upby him and he would withdraw himself suddenly saying that his father did not like us getting a child.i feel that my husband is a psych but am not in a position to prove it my in laws are threatening me thatif I go to legal advice they will take me to task.my very life is in trouble now I kindly request people who read this query to help me to comeout of my husband legally please......

File DV case , start getting mtn, residence, so he will come out with alimony & MCD

Dear Querist
no need to convert, conversion is not a solution of the problem and conversion can be completed under pressure. if you think that you can not live with your husband and unable to adjust with his family then the option are below as per my opinion:
1. settle the matter amicable and file for mutual divorce.
2. if he is not ready to MCD and you also want to harass him or give him a lesson then file a domestic violence case against them before magistrate u/s 12, 17, 18, 20,23 and other sections as per your need.
3. file a Maintenance case against him if you are unable to maintain yourself.
4. you can file a divorce case also.

file for divorce . also file complaint under Dv act seek maintenance , right to stay in shared household and other reliefs . no one can force you to convert . you have been married under special marriage act and you can retain your own religion

when marriage is under Spl Marriage Act then intention of non-conversion is explicit.
Thereafter forcing conversion is torture.
You must take shelter of DV act. Since marriage is under Spl marriage act the divorce cannot happen by triple talaq.

Further, Mr qureshi has rightly gone deep. He is correct to conclude that even your conversion will not help. Your being of other religion is just one reason of torture and not the sole one (as apparent).

Thank u very much sir... now my husband has filed a divorce case against me on the ground of mental cruelty by me.he has stated that we have not lived together from the day we got married but I have de proof that we lived together.now everything seems to be a planned actions by my husband and his father to either convert me and take me as a slave or to file wrong complaints against me and ruin me
