Dear Experts
I need to correct my surname in SSC Marks Certificate. In my SCC marks card my surname has been printed as AMALADINNI
My Name in all other documents/letters till POST Graduation and in Working Organization also is AMMINENI BALADITHYA.
I need to remove AMALADINNI from my surname in SSC marks card.
I need to apply for Passport.
Please advise suitable solution for my problem.

You can contact the institution which issued the certificate, If your school has submitted your name with surname, institute may not agree after such a long time.
You can submit name change affidavit while applying for the passport.

If this is a typographic error then the board of school education which issued you such certificate can correct it but if this is either addition or deletion of some words then you need to file a civil suit before the local court.

Generally board rectify mistakes within 2-3 years from the date of issue of the certificate, if more time has passed, court orders is the avenue left. But better contact the board first for rectification.
