Dear expert.
My father received a plot of land from his mother through a settlement deed . The said plot of land was sold by my father 30 years ago to purchase a fully built house. Now, my father wants to gift this house to my brother in full. When i asked him for my share he says the house is his self acquired and so i am not entitled.
Can you please tell me whether property received through the mother constitute ancestral property.
Thank you for the time.

YOUR FATHER IS ABSOLUTELY RIGHT. IT IS HIS PERSONAL PROPERTY. HE CAN DO WHATEVER THAT HE WANTS TO DO WITH IT. NOBODY ELSE HAS ANY RIGHT TO OBJECT TO WHAT HE DOES.

Your father is the owner of the property, he has the right to gift it as per his wish.

The questioned property is self acquired property of your father and not ancestral so he has every right to transfer the same to any one as per his wish.
