Sir/Madam,
I'm an Indian citizen. I was in love with a girl and she cheated me and my family. But there is no visible proof. And after that, I asked her mother(who knows me and our relation) to return back some of the stuffs that I gave to my G.F (since the girl is now engaged and I can't see her), and put forward the decision to give back her stuffs. I need some of my stuffs(not well worthier by price, but worthier for me by soul). But when I called(most of the calls are made by myself :( ) her mother, she disagrees and continuously harassing me via telephone(So, I've recorded some calls) with bad verbs. Since I was able to control my anger, I haven't raised my voice. But she is not letting me to speak and even speaking too many bad words and I'm totally depressed by her this behavior.
So, now I need to know that the verbal offense through telephone call to a male is punishable? I've heard 'IT ACT 66A'. But don't know more about that, and is it is useful for 'Males'. What I can do now. I would like to take some legal action against that misbehaving parent, she really harassing me. Please help me and give me a valuable suggestion... :(
Thanks...

Why do you invite troubles for yourself? When the girl is not sincere, you should thank God that it is known to you before entering into marriage with such a girl. As you are telling the gifts are not worthy in terms of money, you forget the episode. No mother of a girl will be kind and polite to a boy friend. You are lucky they have lodged any complaint against you with the police. Come out of the entire episode complete and start living peacefully.
If you wish to know only the legal position, I agree with the comments of my colleague above.

You may or may not be successful in proving your charges easily but if they started to take steps even on false grounds you will be in deep trouble. You will be thrown back for years from your life goals. As advised by the learned experts, leave and forget all this episode and move to a better life where sky is the limit.

Hi,
Thanks for the replies. But, it is very sad that the legal system in India can't offers no protection for guys like me. :(
But I am now in a deep problem. I got several missed calls from her mother, and I called back, and as per my curiosity and lack of knowledge, I said: 'If you do like this, then I'll complain to the authority'. But she may know the points and she is threatening me about 'GUNDAs' and other legal issues. I'm all lost... :(
Please help...

It all depends upon whether you wish to protest or to keep silence like a coward.

Legal system in India is very sound if the concerned officials of the police do take much interest. These days I am defending a case wherein an ex. MLA was threatened from inside jail of Haryana by a life convict. Ex. MLA mae a simple complaint to the police that he has been threatened in the name of ransom and the system started working resulting thereby not only jail authorities but also the persons like my client who had no role except to handover the clothes to another convict containing the sim.
All the accused persons have to go to high court for their bail as both lower courts rejected it. They are in jail since last 4 months.
So it is necessary to knock the system.
