Land lease agreements of 1962 for 50 year expire on 2012

mr pandey bought the land from mr peter under 50 year lease as on aug 1962 and build a chawl contain 26 room and sold under pagdi system now lease agreements is expire on 2012 in prc card leessee name show as mr n n pandey H ,my query is that whether mr nn pandey still owner of land or Mr peter as lease is expire, what is current status forroom owners who are still payeing rent to mr pandey a chawl ownder.

Mr. Peter will always remain owner of the land and Mr. Pandey has to vacate the land on expiry of the lease deed.

1. There are two components:
a) Lease of Land, whose title-ownership will belong to Mr. Peter and NOT to Mr. Pandey.
b) Ownership of 26 Houses, which belong to Mr. Pandey and not to Mr. Peter

2. After the lease period, the Land will revert back to Mr. Peter
3. After the lease period of the Land, Mr. Pandey has to relinquish his ownerhsip of 26 houses in favor of Mr. Peter.
4. The 26 houses will now have to deal with Mr. Peter and not with Mr. Pandey.

The above is subject to various parameters and the terms and conditions of the Lease agreement, between Pandey and Peter.

Mr. Peter remains owner right from the beginning till date, hence here is no question of Pandey claiming the ownership and as per conditions of lease agreement and law, he has to vacate the premises after termination of lease period.

thanks a lot , it's very clear reply , one question arise here that what is the currant position of the 26 tenant who possess the house. Mr peter had expire and no legal heir then what is the current status for 26 tenant and mr. pandey who still colleting a rent.
