Married daughter's right in ancestral property of father and the latest decision

(Querist) 28 July 2012 This query is : Resolved
Dear Sir, My question is my mother has 6 sisters and 3 brothers. But it has come to light that my maternal grand mother does not wish to give any part of the ancestral property, nor the individual property acquired by my grandfather in his life time. Further, my grandmother also has some property in her name and it is same also here. My grandfather is no more. Please let me know the present status of the married daughter in the above mentioned properties. I would like to request to provide the law and the supreme court/high court decision.

how do you say grand mother property is ancestral . ?

as far as your grand father / grand mother self acquired property is concerned daughter has a share . merely because she is married does not mean she loses her share . however by will grna dfather / grand mother can bequeath property to whom sever they so desire
