In a civil suit against a public limited company is a Defendant, if one of their officers depose on behalf of the company in this suit, he signs affidavit of evidence and appears as witness and gives evidence which is proved to be false and untrue.
Question:
Can that officer be also made a party to a civil/criminal matter which may come up due to false affidavit signed /evidence given by him before the court?

Theoretically, yes. However, obstruction of justice and perjury is a soft option for anyone, companies and Government Organisations included. And courts are helpless.

1. If opinion of Advocate P. Venu i.e. inserted below is correct:
"Theoretically, yes. However, obstruction of justice and perjury is a soft option for anyone, companies and Government Organisations included. And courts are helpless", the Government agencies and Experts of judiciary, who are working hard for cleansing the judicial system of our country must take remedial actions to end this menace in the system of judiciary.
2.Also, long ending proceedings of Civil suit filed against an employer company, is another weapon of victimization in the hands of an employer to harass and trouble their employees. Experts may please note these.
