sir my aunt is not educated and wants to apply for PAN card in her name and she is not working anywherebut gets money from her son living abroad,she has a voters card ,Can she apply for a pan card by producing that voter card as age and id proof?She even has a savings bank account in her name.Please advice us if we have to produce an affidavit for age proof.

The process to acquire PANcard is simple, visit any NSDL centre take a form 49 A & ask for the format of certificate from a gazzetted officer, print the format on a plain paper attach a passport size photo, the GO attests the date of birth and residential address, this certificate serves multiple purpose for Photo ID, proof of date of birth and residential address proof. Submit the form at the same centre, the fee for issue of PAN card is Rs 100/-. You will receive the card within 10 working days.

If she does not have any age proof, she can submit affidavit of her age along with the voter card.

Yes she can apply for the PAN card with the voter ID, if no voter ID then she can apply with a certificate affixing the foto attested by gezetted officer, affidavit is not necessary.

Obtain form 49A fill up details questannaires required and attach. the self attested copy of zerox copy of Voter's ID for photoID proof and your address proof.apply in person or sends the details by downloading uti site or NSDL site for PAN cards. There is no give affidavit for age-proof
