(Querist) 04 September 2018 This query is : Resolved
Dear Veterans,
Greetings.
My query is on a partnership firm working as an NGO.
Can Partnership firm, registered under Partnership Act 1932, work and operate as an NGO?
What can be legal hassles and complications in this case.
Also share if only 2 persons willing to operate as NGO, what can be the best form of organisation they can opt for?
Please enlighten with your valauale inputs.
Regards:

I think NGO can not be registered under I.P. Act. But a NGO can be registered under Societies Registration Act or Companies Act. And remember, the profits if any in a NGO registered under Society Act or companies Act shall not be distributed among the members of the society or directors of the company and the profits shall be used only to promote the objects of the company/society for welfare, charity etc.,.

2. Partnership can be registered by two persons with its Memorandum of Association and Articles of Association explaining/ completing other legal formalities.
