it is not necessary that you appoint an advocate to appear on your behalf in court . you can file suit on your own and appear in person if you so desire . however it is better you engage a lawyer to fight on your behalf

Any person can appear party-in-person before any forum, judicial, quasi-judicial or administrative. It is a basic right which no law can curtail. In other words, no law or permission is required to appear party-in-person. You qualification or stature is also immaterial.

There are advantages as well as disadvantages in appearing party-in-person. You are not dependent on the vagaries of a another person; however, when you engage a lawyer, he is a professional and he can present the case with objectivity and detachment.

A vakalatnama is a power of attorney in another name and naturally, a party-in-person need not furnish any vakalatnama to the Court.

If you think you are sound in legal field and capable to handle your case by your own then you can fight your case party in person .

U MUST WEIGH THE RISK INVOLVED AND BENEFIT U RECD BY DOING SO.

If water is deep, u need a Expert swimmer with you. If a feet or two, you can try on your own, without loosing your life.. !!

SO DON'T DO IN PERSON..
LEGAL STUDY IS AN OCEAN.
SHALLOW KNOWLEDGE IS HARMFUL
How will u judge, bottom is stone or clay?? So experienced, reliable, honest, professional person is preferred. Saving on Professional fees always [ 95%] cost more, + loss of valuable time and case too+ confusion & Tension, to repent …...

What are the facts of the case? Of course in your own case, you can take up the case on your own by filing vakalat as "Party-in-person".
P. Venu (Expert) 19 October 2014
With due respect to the learned expert Mr.Jaggarao, I may be permitted to point out that a party-in-person need not file any vakalat.
T. Kalaiselvan, Advocate Online (Expert) 19 October 2014
As a party in person you can represent your own case, there are plenty of people who appear as party in person in many courts these days.
