as per karnataka land reforma act 1961(KLRA) only persons cultivating lands personally are entitled to hold agr.land.
holding agr.lands by cos.allowed only when specifically approved under KLRA.
max, agr, land holding restricted under KLRA to 54 acres.again ,if the land is grade A irrigated land the ceiling is 13 acres.
some categories of persons and lands exempted from ceiling for eg.plantations exempted from ceiling.therefore companoes can own plantations without ceiling.
In some districts like coorg, there are restrictions to buy or sell land .
procedure for purchase is to make an application under KLRA .
The maharashtra agr.lands(ceiling on holdings)act,1961 (malcha)places prohibition on holding land in excess of specified ceilings and restriction.the ceiling area for each class of land in districts and taluks are provided in 1st schedule of malcha.the malcha specifies certain types of lands exempt from these provisions.for eg.lands held by an industrial undertaking for a bona fide ind/non agr.use.

Thanks for reply i further wanted to know where and how to apply in karnataka for purchasing and holding agri land by company as KLRA does not provide any clause to acquire agri land by company and to continue with agri land by cultivating the same.
