Dear Lawyer members,

my house which i have given on leave and licence the balcony fell on one of the licensee's wife head and she got injured badly and is claiming lots of money from me. What should I do?

Give reasonable amount to her .
M V Gupta (Expert) 10 September 2012
It is the responsibility of the land lord to maintain the premises in good and tenantable repair and condition. On account of not maintaining the property if the tenants are injured by fall of the balcony which is not due to negligence or on account of any thing done by the tenant, the land lord would be liable to meet the medical expenses incurred by the injured person.
