Query regarding mact claim

(Querist) 27 May 2012 This query is : Resolved
Sir, I have query as regards to the consequences of a car-accident. While driving car a friend of mine met with an accident with a bike and as a result the one who rode the bike was seriously injured..so FIR was lodged against him.Actually, the victim was riding the bike on wrong side. So , what is the liability of the car-owner and the driver?Besides, if the driver is arrested, does that make him criminally liable? Does that mean the driver would be considered to have a criminal record? Further, can he be debarred from appearing in UPSC exam/applying for any govt. job in future/or can he face trouble while applying for further studies abroad or while applying for Visa, for the reason being he met with an accident and got arrested and court proceedings are going against him?
Thanking you in anticipation.

Insurance company will pay the amount. Car driver can be punished only if rash drv., and negligence is proved. So not to worry.

your friend was car driver . the fault s of bike driver as he was driving on wrong side of road . i presume your friend was not drunk .

if FIR is lodged trial will take place ultimatelt he will be acquitted if what you ahve styaed is true .

he has not been found guilty yet . so there is no question of his being debarred for applying for govt job . while applying for passport he has to give information of pending case against him
