Hi my name is swethakrishnan,i have filed divorce petition in the family court and i have claimed an amount of 25lakhs in the petition.We both have attended to the mediation for settlement but the mediation failed due to nonagreement of amount,but he agree for divorce and not agreed to give an amount of 25lakhs.The case will appear on next week in family court,my question is how much duration from now will judge take to complete the total divorce case. please advice us.

Are U in a hurry to get divorce? U cannot fix time frame for regular divorce case,had U opted for MCD,it would not take much of UR time.

You cannot fix time frame as well the amount of alimony. The conciliation not being successful, let the law takes its course.

If you are in hurry, opt for Mutual Consent Divorce.
Contested divorce take 3-5 years or more.

The judge will not take any time to dispose the case, it depend on the various prevailing factors which constitute the time taken for the disposal of divorce cases. Since your mediation failed and the case has reverted to the court, you may follow it scrupulously.
