Yes, file RCR ns pursue it seriously. I would ask you to explore this relationship than think in the line of breaking it.

Influence of someone else has to be properly investigated with evidences as it constitutes a vital part in UR reunion. It may have an impact on RCR too.Despite the episodes that took place in the Police station, desertion by him is only since 2 months and UR marriage is less than a year.

A husband or wife can file a petition for restoration of their rights to cohabit, only if a period of 2 years has elapses from the date of desertion.

A husband or wife can file a petition for restoration of their rights to cohabit with the other spouse. But the execution of the decree of restitution of conjugal rights is very difficult. The court though is competent to pass a decree of restitution of conjugal rights, but it is powerless to have its specific performance by any law

Try for reunion with the help of family friends and relatives to save marriage. Legal steps may not provide fast and desired relief.

Take legal steps only if all other avenues have failed.

I agree with expert advise of Mr. Rajendra K Goyal.
If you are unable to convience your husband/in-laws you should explore possibility of re-joining through some elderly persons, friends, relatives or acquientance "out of Court" to save the marriage institution.
RCR petiton and police intervention will further spoil your relation, be cautious.
