regarding the stamp duty

hello all learned experts
pls help me in calculation of the lease deed
tenure six years
rent monthly 8000
deposit 2000
no any kind of preimum
all taxes paid by the lessor
i calculate as under
8ooo rent x 12 months =96000
deposite 2000 total of both 98000x 4.9 stamp duty =4802 +100 agreement =4902 rupees stamp it is ok or not pls give me guide line

You may be correct , acording to Your State - Stamp Act applicable Schedule Article- it is to be checked up with local Sub Registrar ,where the Lease Deed is to be rgistereed - Stamp Duty & Registration Fee, defers from state to state .

Dear Prakash,

what you have calculated above, that is correct stamp duty only for with in one year lease. More than one year you should have to find out the avarage annual rent. But you have to look about the exlating amount of rent, period, maintanance, other necessary expences also added in the perfect stamp duty.

Lease Stamp duty is diferent from state to state. Please specify the period of lease on that the property and its belongs to the which state? Otherwise it is unable to caliculate the perfect stamp duty.

you may be correct as per your state laws.
it is better to consult the sub-Registrar of your area and finalise the amount of stamp duty.
