Renewal of obc ncl certificate and am i eligible or not

Querist : Anonymous (Querist) 12 February 2025 This query is : Resolved
Sir, I m from West Bengal and currently I m giving banking exams like ibps and sbi.I got my obc ncl certificate in September 2022, my mother is a retired central govt.employee under Group C category and I lost my father in 2023 though he was not having income.
I want to know for the renewal of obc ncl certificate should I have to submit my mother's 3 years itr filing certificate? And also my mother's pension will be included as total income or not cause as per income from salary pension is considered under it's head. Although the income from other sources is separate and for the current financial year it's Rs 3,81,000 but the pension amount after deduction for the current financial year is Rs 4,71,000...So what should be taken into account ?

An OBC NCL caste certificate is valid for three years for the State Government (West Bengal) and one year for the central government. And the total income of the parents shall not exceed Rs.8 lakhs.

Here the total income includes pension too or only income from other sources? Isn't that Pensons comes under Income from salary ?

Yes. All income includes pension.

not only pension but interest from deposit is also income.
T. Kalaiselvan, Advocate (Expert) 14 February 2025
Salary income or pension is not taken into consideration for computing the annual income of the family members for eligibility towards OBC NCL category.
P. Venu (Expert) 18 February 2025
In respect of wards of public servants, the NCL eligibility is decided on the basis of the status of the post held by them, irrespective of heir annual income. Those in Group C are placed in the NCL. Same criterion should apply in respect of a pensioner as well.
