Hi,
I have rented a place from 5 years but only have the Initial agreement (on a ₹2 paper done by the broker) I never renewed it as the owner is well known. Is there a way I can show I stayed at the same place all these years with a new agreement?

What is the problem? Either in getting renewal in agreement or vacating?

Admittedly, you have stayed at the same place. So what os the problem? Any agreement is personal between the parties.

Sir, psk requires me to furnish the rent agreement for the past year. I did not renew my agreement from 5 years. Is there a way I can make a new agreement & mention I have lived there?

A rent agreement means a Lease deed which shall be a registerable document. But to date, you have not entered the lease agreement. now you cannot for the past 5 years. Now you and your owner shall execute the lease deed with mutual terms and conditions. for payable Stamp duty consult in SRO of your area as the stamp duties vary from one State to another State.

Only unregistered rent agreement (which is stated to have been lapsed after 1 year) shall not suffice to prove your stay in the rented accommodation for 5 years.

You can enter into fresh rent agreement stating that you were rented the premises and was occupying the same from previous five years.
Stay at any premises can be proved otherwise.
