Salary deduction

I was working in an Engineering college as Assistant Professor, due to irregular and delayed salary I left the job without notice period. My 3 months salary is still pending. They also deducted Rs. 20000/- from my first 4 months salary, Rs. 5000/- for each month as a Security Deposit.
Now, the college Principal says that 3 months salary will be deducted from total amount they have to pay to me. They say that a notice in that subject is issued, but such notice is not known by any of my colleagues still working there.
My joining letter has 1 month of notice period clause and no clause for deduction of 3 months salary is mentioned.
I want to know whether the security deduction from my salary is justified. What should I do to get my salary.

The action of the Management is illegal. You may serve Notice through a Lawyer for payment of the entire amount with interest.

If they proceed to deduct any amount in illegal / unauthorized way send legal notice for the amount, discuss with local lawyer.

The salary slip showing the deductions has been issued to you or not?
Does the appointment letter/contract has a clause on security deposit and did you sign acceptance of any such clause?
The security deposit is for what; say any valuables issued to you?
Did you record the statements of Principle (audio/visual/witnessed/minuted) say for 90 days deduction and issuance of any notice?
You may narrate all representations (mention dates/names/brief minutes) and conclude that your earned wages/dues/promised amounts have not been paid to you and said notice ( as stated by Mr/Ms.............on dated...........) has not been supplied to you and may be supplied by Redg. Post so as to reach within next 3 days.
You have the option to prepare your own FnF statement of payables by employer and payables by youo and final amount payable to you and ask the employer to check and wet and pay by Bank DD thru Redg. Post within say 3 days.
