Sbi home loan - prior deed untraceable

(Querist) 12 September 2013 This query is : Resolved
Hi Sir,

I am from Trivandrum. I have applied for a home loan with SBI bank. After 3 days their advocate called me to bring the original 15 years prior deed for verification. I have submitted the certified copy of the prior deed that I get from the concerned sub registrar. But the advocate is still insisting to see the original prior deed. The problem here is that the land was actually 60 cents which was diveded into 11 plots by a brocker some 6 years ago and I am the owner of 1 of the plots. I am not sure who owns the prior deed now. I have contacted the original owner but he says it was handed over to the broker then itself. I could not trace a person or the brocker to know who owns the prior deed.
All remaining documents are there with the certified copy of the prior deeds.
Sir, please help me to understand a way out for this.

well bank needs to scrutinise originals before sanctioning loan . certified copy of prior deed should serve the purpose if original has been lost .
