1)will it devolve only to wife?
--It will devolve upon wife and children equally.
2) will it devolve on Wife + Children?
--answered above
3) Will the property devolve on Wife + children+ grand children???
--It will devolve upon wife and children.
for example if the deceased is having wife-X, one son-A and one daughter-B. A has has two sons and B has two sons. In this case the deceased property firstly will devolve on X, A and B. Hence, the property fallen to the share of A and B will become ancestral in the hands of sons of A and B. If the sons of A and B (grand children) are willing, they can file partition suit and claim their shares.

The personal law applicable to the deceased male will be the deciding factor.
