Signature & revenue stamp on wages payments

(Querist) 05 January 2016 This query is : Resolved
Please confirm/clarify the following;

Signature on Re 1 revenue stamps to be obtained on any cash payments exceeding Rs 5,000. Accordingly, signature on rev stamp also to be obtained on wages/salary paid by Cash.

Nowadays wages/salary are transferred directly to the bank a/c of employees. In such cases,
whether signature is required to obtain from employees on payroll ?
Guest (Expert) 05 January 2016
No need, only reference to the money transfer advice needs be given against the employee's payroll.

Bank transfer from account to account does not fall within the purview of cash payment, as payment to employees is not made by cash by the DDO.

I go with the expert Sri P.S.Dhingra.

AGREED with the expert Sri P.S.Dhingra.
Rajendra K Goyal (Expert) 06 January 2016
No need of taking signatures on payroll if pay credited in Bank account of the employee.
Kumar Doab (Expert) 06 January 2016
Agreed with Expert Mr. P.S.Dhingra.

The salary/wage slips are still being generated and supplied to employees, by establishments.

The a/c details can be formatted on salary/wage slip.
T. Kalaiselvan, Advocate (Expert) 14 January 2016
The receipts obtained in the earlier salary disbursement system was to confirm that the salary was duly paid to the employees concerned, later on when the salary credited through bank account directly came into existence, the necessity to confirm salary payment has extinguished, there fore there is no necessity for obtaining signature on revenue stamp on the salary roll.
