Stamp duty on immovable property devolving by will

Whether stamp duty is leviable on immovable property acquired by a person by will executed in his favour ?

No stamp duty will be required. Simply on the basis of the registered Will or will, the property will have to be mutated in the name of the beneficiary, upon the death of the Testator.

No stamp duty is chargeable on a WILL in terms of Section 3 Schedule 1 of the Stamp Act.
