Tag of advocate after completing 2 years of llb

Dear Sir,

I have completed 2nd year of llb, can i put a ADV before my name ? may i put a sticker before on my four wheeler ?

is there any article or act is there for the same ?

kindly support me.

No. Unless and until you qualify your final LLB.Exam and get enrolled in the State Bar Council as a practicing Lawyer, You are not entitled to use either the tag or the sticker meant for Advocates.

First till few years ago any LLB person could use Advocate sticker etc.

Under sec. 49 of Advocate Act Bar Council of India have framed

Bar Council of India Certificate and Place of Practice (Verification) Rules 2015

Under 2015 Rules Only those Advocate who have certificate of Practice will be considered as Advocate remaining will be considered as non practicing advocate and all will be debarred from even voting in Bar Association and all other privileged which Advocate enjoy.

Non Practicing Advocate will be considered only Law graduate but not Advocate.

As usual there is one Case pending in Supreme Court against this 2015 rules which they are claiming to be illegal.

Unfortunately many non practicing Advocate are using Advocate Sticker ,etc. and thus it creates bad impression in mind of students like me.

When I really understood how studious Advocate (Legal field) is then I started developing respect for this field.

Legal field requires high study , just keeping logo of Advocate and degrading profession is not suitable.

There was also some rule (I don't remember exactly where I read ) where student or junior advocate with less than 3 years experience where instructed to put one symbol on Dress so they could be identified and corrected easily by Experienced Advocate or Judge.

This rule existed in past 30-40 years ago but that rule some where disappeared and I feel such identification is formally required till at least 2-3 years after LLB degree so they are properly trained.

I saw my friends who are/ where studying in medical college , they spend some hours daily looking at patient after some time they are given little higher job then higher etc and all co-ordination is done by Head of respective Department.

In this way Medical student in big Govt. hospital see daily around 200 to 300 patients and trained .

This way Law student requires training and then only they should be allowed to practice as Advocate independently this is what I feel as student.

No person can use Advocate tag till he is registered with the Bar council.
