time boundness of filing case

Since I want to levy charges of ragging, destruction of evidences etc, are such cases time bound, and will court reject if their is delay by me in filing case?

Dear Sumir,
This is a criminal offence, hence first of all you have to file FIR with the Police Station. FIR to be lodged within 48 hours. Why you want to delay?

Sir, I want to delay since i m student of the college now, and fear of being illegally victimised, i have already received some written threats regarding it
