Departmental enquiry needs much more time, as it requires to follow the required procedure. During suspension period, a government employee, is entitled to take half of the salary, till its final orders. If any punishment is ordered on the suspended employee, he may prefer an appeal/reversion either before its superiors or to a court of law, within a prescribed time limit.

First get to know the reason for suspension in writing.
You can if reasons are not as per facts, make a petition to revoke the suspension.
You can get to know other details in course of time.

Departmental inquiry is required to be conducted and completed expeditiously. There are statutory provisions as well as administrative instructions in this regard. See sub-rules (7) and (11) of Rule 14 of CCS(CCA) Rules, 1965.

In addition, the Government has been issuing repeated administrative instructions to this effect, latest being the OM dated 29/11/2012 available at http://ccis.nic.in/WriteReadData/CircularPortal/D2/D02ser/425_04_2012-AVD-IV-A-29112012.pdf

there is no strict time frame laid down.

CVC has in 1998 laid down 6 months but such dictate is not statutory and does not overrule the principles of natural justice and laid down rules formulate under provision to article 309.

In case the delay is artificial and inordinate you can move to court for seeking directions for time bound finalisation.
