I have given 5.5 lacs rupees by cheque to my father to purchase a property cost of 18 lacs .he is neither giving my money back nor giving part of Property to me . what can I do.

What is the proof that you gave the money for purchase of a property?

If you have credible evidence of the money advanced, you may file a suit and have the property attached.

The debt is time barred, you can not recover till you have acknowledgement of debt not older than 3 years.

You might have lent money to your father but sadly, it is barred by limitation hence you cannot file a recovery suit and also in the absence of evidence to prove that you have funded as an investment in the property purchased, you may not be able to claim a share also it. However you may discuss the issue with a local advocate who may be having a different idea after studying the case in person.
