Share certificate can not be gifted, however, both of you can be share-holder.

What is that she had gifted - property or share? If the former, was it through a registered deed?

Yes. You stated in your query that she gifted her 1/3rd share to you by registered gift deed. Is it share certificate or her 1/3rd share property gifted to you?

Dear Sir,
You may file a application to get remaining portion of your deceased mother to get transferred in your name by way of inheritance. It is better to consult local lawyer for more guidance.
