Respected sir,
what is the validity limit (in respect of months,years)
of a general power of attorney ?

There is no limitation period for a GPA,take into consideration the following: death of the testator or POA holder or cancellation of the testator.

GPA or SPA dies with the death of 'Principal' i.e POA maker or as advised by experts herein!
"TESTATOR" is a person making a WILL!

I agree with the experts. However it is advisable to obtain a fresh GPA or SPA to ensure that, the maker of the Power is alive.

The GPA will be in force till it is cancelled by the Principal or till the death of Principal or till the purpose of the GPA is completed , whichever occurs earlier
