Issue legal notice to Air Tel, then proceed under consumer protection Act. You can file criminal complain also under Sec 292, 293 IPC against the persons involved.
Message received by your friend may not be from Airtel. As Airtel is a reputed service provider and would not indulge in sending vulgar messages. It could be a hacker who has sent the message under the name of airtel. Sending a vulgar message falls under the Information Technology Act as a cyber crime. You need to lodge a police complaint with a cyber police station and pursue the matter. There is a heavy fine and punishment for the cyber criminal.
