Judge: An Officer of the court who presides over a court and decides the cases. Magistrate : Official who presides over a court and tries the criminal cases and criminal miscelleneous cases definded under sections of IPC. Some time magistrate has got civil judge powers also.
TYpes of Magistrates: 1)Juidicial Magistrate 2) Taluka Magistrate ( Assistant Commissioner). Judges: 1. prinicpal Civil Judge (Junior Divn) & Prinicpal Civil Judge (Senior Division)Accourding to the work additional civil judges will be appointed. Dist., and sessions judge.

So far are Civil Judges are concerned, you must refer to Civil Courts Act of your State.
