Which citations are valid legally?

Querist : Anonymous (Querist) 24 January 2012 This query is : Resolved
Boy wants to put favorable SC, HCs citations in his sec 125 case. Are various judgment copies (PDF) downloaded+printed from sites like www.indiankanoon.com etc are allowed to be submitted. Many of them have complete CRM numbers etc But AIR is not there!
In the courts; when we submit citations, is it necessary for them to have AIR no. too?
prabhakar singh (Expert) 24 January 2012

Yes depends on the wish opf the courts.
Generally decisions downloaded from official site of supreme court or high court is widely accepted by the court.

You can produce the downloaded copies of citation before the courts.
Sailesh Kumar Shah (Expert) 25 January 2012
Submit downloaded copies of citation before the courts, thereafter if court ask for air then proceed accordingly.

It depends on the courts.

Some courts allow it, others decline to accept the same.

Whenever I submitted downloaded citations, till date, no one objected.
Submit List of Citations/ Authorities you rely upon, and mention the correct No, as appear in AIR. Court is supposed to know ALL REPORTED JUDGEMENT.
