hi madhu first of all u should know that according to the ruling of supreme court on dec -4 -2011 , Only a man can be proceeded against and punished for adultery, but the wife cannot be, even as an abettor, the Supreme Court has ruled.So there can't be any sec497 (deals with adultry) against you. but after seein the status of your marriage its safe that u first take divorce.but its ur life u must be having better idea about it. There is one more thing if you are living with your unmarried freind ,in such cases court will persume tht u guys are in a relationship,u must have strong prove to deny it.

Adultery.-- Whoever has s*xual intercourse with a person who is and whom he knows or has reason to believe to be the wife of another man, without the consent or connivance of that man, such s*xual intercourse not amounting to the offence of rape, is guilty of the offence of adultery, and shall be punished with imprisonment of either descripttion for a term which may extend to five years, or with fine, or with both. In such case the wife shall not be punishable as an abettor
