Advocacy after a gap of 26 years

There is a gap of almost 26 years since I became a lawyer. I did not practice due to family difficulties. Can I now start practicing? Am from Karnataka. Is Certificate Of Practice a must for starting afresh? My enrolment number is appearing in State Bar council list.

If it appear in state bar council list, you can contiue your profession. But before that some fee should be paid for yearly renewal in bar association, if you have paid life time fee in association, you no need to renewal. check with bar association where you first enrolled your subscripttion.

If your enrolment with the Bar Council is stlll continued, you can practice. Membership of the Bar Association, according to me, has nothing to do wirh your practicing as an Advocate but it is entirely on your discretion as to whether to become a member of the local Bar Association or not.
