Can we take picture of petition in court?

Before submitting advance application, recall petition or certified copies application...etc. Instead of xerox, I simply take a picture of it (in parking lot) on my phone with time stamp for proof. Is it wrong to do so? I understand taking photos of people in court complex is prohibited.
