Civil Writ Petition: Can I plead on my own?

Hi,

I am planning to file writ petition against Agra Development Authority in the Allahabad high court. My question is Can I plead my case on my own or  is it necessary that i plead through an advocate? I am not a lawyer but can speak very well and have full knowledge of my case.

I need some one to verify the writ petition i have drafted and suggest improvements. I am willing to pay for this service. Please let me know if anyone is interested.

you can appear in person before the HC.

but it will be better to approach the court through some good lawyer.

unless and until you are having detailed knowledge of the judicial pronouncements on the matter and the porper procedure being adopted before the courts it will be risky to appear in person.

its not merely a matter of speaking out in the court room, what matters is what to speak!

Court is not a platform either to be social hero or to deliver speech on a particular matter.

I am not discouraging you but prior to taking any such action just ensure whether you 're able to make out some case.

yes you may  appear according to the provisions of cpc.

go with full preparation.

i observed that there is a tendency to ignore the petitioner in person - until he proved his ability and command over the law and the matter.

i hope you understood me properly.

Thaank you sir for your reply. Can you please suggest a good lawyer that could present my petition in Allahabad high Court? Also it would be very benefitial to me get an approximate cost of such an excercise. Please note that the writ petition has already been prepared and just needs a review and amendement (if any).
