There are a few steps that a consumer needs to accomplish in order to approach or file a complaint jn Consumer Redressal Commission.
Down below are the steps through which you may approach the Consumer Redressal Commission.

Step 1 ---
The initial step before approaching a Consumer Redressal Commission, is to notify the opposition part with the help of a notice about the deficiency in service or unlawful/unfair practice.
This is very crucial in order to know the response of the opposite party i.e. whether they’re ready to compensate for defects in service/good incurred by the consumer or not. If the opposition provides a non-satisfactory or negative response towards the notice, then a consumer may approach the consumer court.
Step 2 ---
Now, the first thing that one needs to do (as a unsatisfactory customer) is to file or lodge a formal complaint under CPA (Consumer Protection Act, 1986). As a customer you need to appoint a lawyer in order to initiate the suit. The complaint form then needs to be submitted to the commission.
{On a plain paper add details of the complaint – name & address of the opposite party)
The consumer then needs to file the complaint in the district forum which has competent jurisdiction over other party’s residence or office.
Step 3 ---
Last but not the least, a consumer have to submit the fee through a demand draft (or DD).

The fee details for District Redressal Commission are give below –
1. Up to Rs 1 lakh: Rs 100
2. Between Rs 1-5 lakh: Rs 200
3. Between Rs 5-10 lakh: Rs 400
4. Above Rs 10 lakh and up to Rs 20 lakh: Rs 500

The pecuniary jurisdiction of a District Consumer Dispute Redressal is upto an amount that does not exeeds 20,00,000 (INR).
