Divorce

Hi,

By brother got married last year( June2012). Ita court marriage not a socail marriage.They donot stay together.

We were planning for social marriage on July 2013. But unfortuanatly , the girl started misbahaving with us. The girl said many times that she didnot want to marry. We informed her mom regarding this. Her mom said that she was in tensed thats why she was telling this. They the two family sat together and fixed a day for the social marriage. But after someday the girl slapt my brother in his own shop( in front of all the cutomers). We are not sure why she is doing all these.

Can you please let us know how we can cancel the registration? As we are not feeling safe to allow this social marriage. We want to cancel to bring peace in our family.

Please file a petition for annulment of marriage under section 12 of the hindu marriage act.But It has to be filed within a year from the date of marriage.

Hi Srishaila,

Can you please let me now why it has to be filed within a year? just trying to understand.

we are in a discussion with that girls's family but seems like they are delaying the meeting and discussion. We told them clearly what happened that day and also told them that we are afraid of something wrong to happen in future so we are not in a mood to accept that girl.

Other people is saying that if we file case against that girl , it will take long time get the issue resolved. We are kind of out of thought . Dont know what should we do and what should we not.

I have spoken to a nearby lowyer . He asked us to file 321 agaisnt that girl and also file divorce case. Will that help?
