False case under crpc 156(3).

Sir,

In a complaint filed under CrPC 156(3) ,I wanted to reply in writing to other party's  observations/objections  on my application to go abroad. But my lawyer said ," written reply  is generally given in civil cases. And in criminal cases it is argued and then statements taken if any ."As aresult I missed out opportunity of giving all details to judge which would erode credibilty of my opponent .  Is my lawyer right in advising me not to give in writing as above?

There is no bar in criminal proceedings to file written reply

You can file your written objection at the time of filing bail application. And you also can tell aal the facts to IO during investigation.
