False Witness

Dear experts While examining a witness in498a in witness box he has been shown a audio recording which was his mobile conversation with accused, he has denied that conversation and agreed for voice sample for verification. This recording is very old hence original recorded mobile does not have it. How to prove the genuiness of this mobile conversation. please advise

The format of the file should be the same as that of the mobile phone. What you should do is to Reload it back onto the mobile phone and see if it plays. Generally the file should have a date and time stamp on it. You may need to go to a computer shop and they will be able to do this for you at minimal cost. Before you do this make sure you make a duplicate copy because if the original one develops a fault or becomes corrupted then you will have a copy of it. I hope this helps a little.
