Insurance in case of accident during installation

Dear All,

We are one of the heavy machine manufacturer.

During the installation of machine at customers factory, Customers employee had seviour hand injury, in which he lost his  2 fingers.

As per opinion of our service engineer , this accident was impact of casual attitude of customers employee who did not followed instructions of our engineer.

Now , Customer is asking compensation from our Company because accident took place in presence of our employee.

My query is if accident has taken place in customers factory , and he is asking compensation from our end.

Are we liable to pay anything ? Is it not employers liability first to compensate his employee if accident took place in his premises.

Please reply.

Regards

Gargi A. Ranade

The employee on job is to observe safety rules and directions.

You have the option to respond as per your engineer's report.
