Want to know if marriage between following relationship is valid. Relationship in question is mentioned in Capital letters
Brother Sister
SON Son
DAUGHTER
Thanks and regards
As per your query let me tell you that two persons are said to be within the degrees of prohibited relationships: if one is a lineal ascendant of the other. For example a Daughter can not marry her father and grandfather. Similarly, a mother can not marry her son or grandson.
Moreover, it is not legal to marry your niece.
Any person who does so will fall under the bar given by section 5(5) of the Hindu Marriage Act, 1955.
Section 5(5) deals with Sapinda relationships.
A sapinda is someone who is: within or has a common ancestor relative within three generations above you on your mother's side of the family. within or has a common ancestor relative within five generations above you on your father's side of the family.
Such relationships are prohibited as per the Hindu Marriage Act, 1956.
Hope it helps!
