Maintenance - queries

Hi Experts - I received a summon from chennai family court that i should appear on jan 8th,since my wife has filed a petition on Maintenance of 25,000/Month.

I am jobless right now,she quoted my earlier employment in the petition and asks for 25,000/Month,she doesnt know that i am jobless right now.

What are all the proofs i need to carry so that i can defend the case?

Present Joblessnes of the husband cannot be an excuse to avoid maintenance.

Attend the court proceedings file your reply before the court and prove that you are jobless, if she is not a working woman and also not so much educated to earn and maintain herself, then instead of jobless you have to pay maintenance to her.

Your termination letter from the previous employer is one of the ways to prove that you did not have that job, what your wife was thinking to have.  Registration with job portals,  applications seeking job to various employers at present signals a fact that perhaps you may be not in employment at present.
