Misuse of Government funds.

Open any newspaper and you see that it has almost 65-75% advertisements. Out of these 50 % of them are of the government. There are adds of tenders which are mostly useless to the commom readers as the readers do not qualify. The stringent conditions are more exclusion.oriented . There is an internet site for tenders. In the same way there can be a similiar site for filing up vacancies./posts

In todays times when there can be a specific site [and there is ] for tenders why spend the government revenue on these useless advertisments. Under RTI act each public body /corporation /government institution should be asked as to how much do they spend on these adds.

Large page adds having big photographs of political
leaders for opening/inaugaration of even small things is seen. tHEY KEEP NAMING ROADS, INSTITUTIONS, PROJECTS SCHEMES AFTER THIER OWN KITH AND KIN. Bear in mind , it is all out of the money we pay as taxes.

Can a PIL be filed restraining the government bodies to do so? Political leaders act as if they have carried out development by spending money out of thier own pockets. Should not all this stop. Whopping amount is spent on such advertisements. What does a person residing in Maharashtra want to do by learning developement carried out by Mayawati in UP or Mr X at Y. What does a peron have to do about laying tracks or acquiring of land in Madras? Buying of goods in Chatisgarh by a person in Kerala?

BEAR IN MIND THAT THIS THING GOES ON AT A DAILY BASIS. IMAGINE THE DRAIN.

Dear rajan

The makers of law are the breakers of law. The advertisemnet means a commission is following it just like a dog after meat. Inaguration of govermnet development programmes are in full page coverage. It is not necessary where large are still under nutritioned and illterate. But the ad comes in the news paper. All the political pimps fear the news paper godfathers. so they give the ad and take the consideration from them. This  is high level corruption under the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988

I think there should be a law regarding percentage space to be occupied by advt in a news paper or perhaps there already is but is not followed by publishers. there should be a similar law, regarding advt time on a TV channel. apart from netas media is also now a law breaker because power is first used to break free of law. personal freedom of privacy is regularly infringed by media. regards mayank shukla
