Owning a Company while being employed

This has been a great website to get the basic information before engaging experts, thanks a lot lawyersclubindia.

I had a question on -  Can an individual own a Pvt Ltd Company while he/she is gainfully employed?

Hello Vivek.

It depends on the employment agreement of that person with his employer. If it is specifically mentioned that the employee can not hold any other position in other organisation or should not work or engage himself in any other business, then these conditions should be closely interpreted. Sometimes, exceptions are also provided in the same agreement which allow you to do above activities either conditionally or unconditionally. Thus, first read the employment agreement fully and try to interpret it precisely.
